About the Monroe Township, East Windsor Township and Plainsboro, New Jersey Area
EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP New
Jersey
East Windsor Township
with its beautiful tree lined neighborhoods is less than an hour away from the
Jersey Shore, New York City and Philadelphia. Additionally, nearby Princeton,
Trenton and New Brunswick offer a wide array of cultural, historical and
recreational events. East Windsor is a very desirable community offering
semi-rural living. East Windsor is located in central New Jersey, Mercer
County. It borders Middlesex and Monmouth counties and is close to West
Windsor, Cranbury, and Monroe Township and not far from Freehold.
East
Windsor is best known for being the first planned urban community (PUD) in New
Jersey. Twin Rivers, which opened in 1970, reflects the theories of the English
planner Sir Ebenezer Howard (1850-1928). Howard proposed "garden cities" or
"new towns" that would cluster buildings owned by the community in the middle
of open land to create "greenblelts" of open space surrounding the town. When
it opened, Twin Rivers had just 30 acres of roads and nearly 200 acres of parks
and lawns. The apartments, condominiums, townhouses, and homes in the four
quads, or living areas, were interconnected with greenways for pedestrians.
Twin Rivers today is a very popular and desirable community, especially for
first time homebuyers. Twin Rivers is very convenient for those working in
Manhattan as the commuter bus stop is situated in the middle of the
community.
As a result of its ideal location, starting in the 1970's to
the present, builders have chosen East Windsor for development. Many lovely
communities were built including Devonshire Estates, Renaissance, Brook Tree,
Kensington, Stratford Woods. Stonegate, Windsor Commons, Windsor Crossing,
Woodmont, Yorkshire Estates and others. There is a variety of housing from town
houses and condos to large single-family homes.
With an excellent,
highly rated public school system, first-rate recreational facilities including
parks, lakes, picnic areas, basketball courts, athletic fields, jogging paths
and tennis courts, and a reputation for being a "safe community" East Windsor
continues to attract young couples and families seeking a better life style.

MONROE TOWNSHIP New
Jersey
Monroe Township is
located in the southern part of Middlesex County New Jersey, bordering Monmouth
and Mercer counties, between New York and Philadelphia at Exit 8A of the New
Jersey Turnpike. Surrounding Monroe Township are East Windsor, Millstone, and
South Brunswick (Dayton, Deans, Monmouth Junction Kendall Park).
Originally settled in the mid 1600's, Monroe Township was named for President
James Monroe and is a semi-rural area. Its forty-three (43) square mile area
can be found approximately halfway between New York City and Philadelphia and
is in close proximity to Princeton University and Rutgers, the State University
in New Brunswick.
Incorporated in its current governing body February
23, 1838, it is one of two towns in New Jersey bearing the name of Monroe
Township. The other town of the same name was incorporated 21 years later in
Gloucester County.
Monroe Township's character began to change in 1970
when the first of many large retirement communities was built. These retirement
communities doubled the population of Monroe to over 24,000. Accompanying the
growth in retirement communities has been growth in light industry and limited
commercial development. However, Monroe has retained its semi-rural character
thanks to the hard work of Township officials and residents.
Recently,
there has been a surge of development in Monroe Township with many new
communities being built. Among the premier communities are The Highlands at
Monroe, Rolling Acres (The Reserve); Spruce Meadows; Legends at Monroe; Woods
Edge; Spruce Run; Estates at Monroe. Many premier builders have chosen to build
in Monroe Township as the market for homes in this area is brisk and people
from all over are looking to relocate to Monroe Township.
People are
choosing Monroe Township for several reasons. The continued semi-rural nature
combined with its excellent schools and safe living conditions has made this
area a magnet for people looking to relocate. Its close proximity to Manhattan
and Philadelphia combined with excellent public transportation makes Monroe
Township very desirable. Being close to Princeton and New Brunswick, with their
educational and cultural institutions, fine medical facilities and excellent
shopping, adds to the desirability of the community.
If you are
planning to relocate to central New Jersey, Monroe Township should be high on
your list of communities to investigate and consider. |
PLAINSBORO TOWNSHIP NEW
JERSEY
The Unami, a subtribe
of the Lenni Lenape native Amercicans, were the first inhabitants of the
Plainsboro area. The Lenape were a part of the larger Delaware Tribe. The
Plainsboro area offered fertile soil and ample water to suit this peace-loving
tribe's agricultural interests.
Given its futile soil, abundant water
and good climate, agriculture became the major economic focus. In 1897, the
Walker-Gordon Laboratory Company selected Plainsboro as their site to develop
innovative dairy farming. Their goal was to produce clean, high quality milk
and milk formulas for infant feeding at a time before pasteurization became
common practice. This farm grew to become the largest certified dairy farm in
the world. The farm and its Rotolactor ("Rotary Combine Milking System") became
a novel tourist attraction. The farm ceased operation in 1971, just about the
time the community was being transformed into a more modern suburban
area.
Today, Plainsboro is a very desirable residential community,
surrounded by West Windsor, South Brunswick, Princeton and Cranbury. The
Township offers a varied blend of suburban and rural atmospheres influenced as
much by its expansive farmland and open space as by its proximity to Princeton
and its midway location between Philadelphia and New York City. Within an hours
drive you are at the Atlantic Ocean or the rolling hills of Northern Jersey.
The Township is 11.8 square miles with a population just over 20,000. Situated
in the southern section of Middlesex County, Plainsboro borders the Townships
of Princeton, West Windsor and East Windsor in Mercer County and the Townships
of Cranbury and South Brunswick in Middlesex County. Plainsboro is regarded as
a premier location for major corporate office and research facilities, as well
as Princeton University.
During the 1970's, the community experienced
unprecedented residential development. Numerous communities were constructed
including Ashford, Aspen, Beechwood Manor,, Brittany, Crossing at Grover's
Mill, The Gentry, Hampshire, Ponds End, Princeton Collection, Princeton
Landing, Princeton Manor, Ravens Crest, Tamarron at Princeton Meadows, The
Villages at Princeton Crossing, Walker Gordon Farm and Wyndhurst.
The
Township is noted for its outstanding school system (Plainsboro-West Windsor)
along with the many recreational facilities, including a public 18-hole golf
course, Princeton Meadows.
Today, the community is noted for its
balance of commercial-office/residential development and the preservation of
open space. The end result is a quality suburban community that retains much of
its agricultural and open-space heritage. |

Real Estate Contracts >Completing The Sale
Some buyers and sellers arrive at the closing feeling terrific about the transaction. They like each other, their new home, their real estate agent, and even the lender! Others feel completely stressed out as a result of the transaction process. Whether you are the buyer or the seller, you can play a part in determining which of these scenarios characterizes your closing.
The professionals who are involved in real estate transactions work hard to make things go as smoothly as possible, but the quality of the transaction often depends not so much on what happens, but how you react to what happens. If you communicate confidence in the professionals who are helping you, the atmosphere will remain positive even if there are complications to be worked through. Real estate transactions are inherently complex. One of a real estate agent's most important responsibilities is to complete the sale, even if everything that could possibly go wrong occurs.
